Republic of 2022 in India: Republican Day is celebrated every year on January 26 to mark the date where the Indian constitution will come into force.
The day of the Republic of 2022 is now less than a week. The festive highlight of the day is the Republic Day Parade held in New Delhi each year.
Thousands of people gather around the Raj Path and India Gate to watch the Republic Day Parade.
On January 23, a full-dress parade rehearsal of the Republic Day parade will be conducted that will begin at 9.50 AM from Vijay Chowk and will proceed to National Stadium.
Amid all the excitement for Republic Day 2022, one must also remember why the day is celebrated in the first place. Here is a brief history of Republic Day:
Republican day history
The Republican Day is celebrated every year on January 26 to mark the date where the Indian Constitution will take effect. India was under the Raj British government for 200 years until the country received independence on August 15, 1947.
However, the country did not have its own permanent constitution for several years after gaining independence. Until then, the district followed a law based on the modified version of Raj British established, the Indian government Act 1935.
To formulate the Indian Constitution itself, a drafting committee led by Dr. B Ambedkar as chairman was appointed only two weeks after India obtained independence.
The Committee and Constituent Assembly took the next two years who considered and compiled the Indian constitution. The Indian Constitution was officially adopted by the Indian Constituent Assembly on November 26, 1949. However, it came into force on January 26, 1950. This is why the Republic Day is celebrated every year on January 26.

January 26 was chosen as the Indian Constitution Day began to apply today in 1929 that the Indian National Congress conducted Indian Independence Declaration (Full Swaraj) against the British Raj.
The Indian constitutionalized the effect of completing the country’s transition to the Sovereign Republic.
On January 26, 1950, Dr. Rajendra Prasad began his term as India’s first president. The Constituent Assembly became an Indian parliament under the provisions of the new constitutional transition.
