New Delhi. Raishumari Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has issued a Traders Charter in the last one week along with major traders organizations of all parts of Delhi in the context of upcoming elections of Municipal Corporation of Delhi, copies of which have been sent to all the three political parties of Delhi. It has been demanded that he should not only include these issues in his election manifesto but also disclose a time-bound plan to complete it.
According to State President of CAT Vipin Ahuja, State General Secretary Devraj Baweja, it has been said in the Merchant Charter that since 2006, the traders of Delhi are facing the brunt of sealing and vandalism and about 10,000 shops are still sealed for years. For a permanent solution to this problem, CAT has urged that the traders of Delhi should be given an amnesty scheme with a cut-off date on the same lines as the 1700 unauthorized colonies of Delhi were regularized, under which cut-off in Delhi Till the date, the compound amount should be regularized on the basis of ‘as made – as made’. There is also a provision for compounding in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi Act. With this, where traders will get relief from sealing, the Municipal Corporation will also get revenue of thousands of crores. But before this it is necessary to open the seal of all the sealed shops. If there is encroachment on any government land, then strict action should be taken against it, but the traders are given sealing notices by the Corporation, they should be stopped immediately. Even after giving thousands of crores of rupees as parking and conversion fee from the traders in Delhi, the parking lots in Delhi have not been developed till date. That’s why the corporation should make parking places in Delhi in sufficient quantity. Because Old Delhi is the market of Mughal era, Old Delhi should be exempted from parking and conversion charges.
CAT’s other State General Secretary Ashish Grover and Satendra Wadhwa said that the property tax levied on commercial property should be made reasonable by the corporation. Signboard tax, cleaning tax etc. should be removed from traders. Get trade license online and the process is transparent. Many types of non-essential taxes are being taken from the traders by the corporation, a joint higher committee should be formed with the traders to review all such taxes so that how the revenue of the corporation increases and there is no unnecessary burden on the traders and on this Give suggestion The corporation has failed to fulfill its responsibilities mentioned in all the three master plans implemented for Delhi so far. It is necessary to pay special attention to the provisions related to the corporation of Master Plan 2041, so that action is taken within the time limit. The condition of the present markets of Delhi is very bad. Special attention should be paid to public facilities, cleanliness and hygiene in all markets. Under Participatory Governance, a Ward Committee should also be constituted in each ward of the Corporation with the representatives of the local Traders Association and Resident Welfare Associations, who should pay special attention to the works of the Corporation in that ward. 20 sqm shops should be allowed to 50 sqm. Delhi Government should immediately pass 371 roads as this matter is pending on Delhi Government for a long time.

CAIT’s National General Secretary Praveen Khandelwal said that trade is the center of all the economic activities of Delhi and there are small, big, micro, small and nook shops in every market and residential colony in Delhi. There are about 12 lakh business establishments in Delhi, whose parents or adult children are added and if workers dependent on traders are also added, then it becomes a big vote bank in itself, which also has the power to change the result of the election. Is. This has also happened in many different elections in the past. The main thing is that people’s economic interests are involved in this chain, so it is an easy process to convert traders into a vote bank in themselves.
He also said that after the new delimitation, there is a majority of traders in more than 76 wards of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, on the other hand, there are about 30 wards on which traders and their employees live and can influence the election results of these wards. .
