Ingredients required for making Kheer-Puri
Sama rice – 1/2
Ghee – 1 tsp
Sweet potato – 1 medium finely chopped
Milk – 500-600 ml
Sugar – 1/4 cup
Cardamom powder – half tsp
Need for Fried Nuts
Ghee – 1 tbsp
Chironji – 1 tbsp
Ingredients for making Poori
Potato – 1 medium finely mashed
Water chestnut – 1 cup
Rock salt – as per taste

How to make Vrat Ki Kheer
Keep a wok on the gas on medium flame. Add sama rice to it and fry for a minute. Then add some ghee and fry till the aroma comes. Now add finely chopped sweet potatoes and fry on medium flame for 2-3 minutes. Now add milk to it and let it cook till it becomes completely or thick. Once it thickens well, add some more milk, then bring it to a boil and add sugar. Cook it for 2-3 minutes more. To fry the nuts, heat ghee in a small pan and add almonds to it. Fry them for half a minute, then add chironji. Fry for half a minute more. Remove it from the pan and keep it in a bowl. Now add cardamom powder, all the fried nuts in a pan with kheer, mix well and turn off the gas.
how to make poori
In a bowl add finely mashed potatoes, water chestnut flour, rock salt. Add little water to it and knead soft dough. Keep aside for 5 minutes. Meanwhile, heat oil in a pan for frying on medium heat. Then take little part of the dough and make small balls. Flatten them by applying ghee or oil on the palms or you can also roll them like puri. Now fry the pooris on medium flame till they become golden brown and crisp. Very nutritious recipe of Kheer-Puri is ready for Navami fast. You can also enjoy it.
