New Delhi. Tourism is increasing continuously in the country. The ever-increasing crowd of tourists in tourist places is a sign of this. Considering the improvement in the tourism industry, it is believed that by the end of this financial year, tourism will reach the level of pre-covid. This was stated by Arun Srivastava, Deputy Director General, Union Ministry of Tourism, at the two-day trade show BLTM held in Delhi. Apart from the Union Ministry of Tourism, states like Gujarat, Odisha, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Goa, besides countries like Russia, Singapore also participated in this trade show.
Due to the improvement in the tourism industry after the Corona epidemic, a two-day show was organized. In which more than 100 exhibitors from 4 countries, more than 13 Indian states and union territories participated. Some of the unique tourist destinations like and Indian Tourism, some of the Indian states, Hotels, Resorts, Tour Operators, DMC are depicted during the show.
Sanjeev Aggarwal, the organizer of BLTM, who was present on the occasion said that we are returning very fast to the situation in 2019. He said that by 2023 March, we will reach the same situation as before. Subhash Goyal, former general secretary of Federation of Association of Indian Tourism and Hospitality, gave suggestions to increase tourism with Russia. On this suggestion, Russia’s deputy chairman, Committee for Tourism Development of St. Petersburg Julia Kuzenskaya agreed with Russia and said that she would consult with her higher officials for this.
Jyoti Mayal, president of the Travel Agents Association of India, said that we have overcome the crisis that came 3 years ago and moved forward. It is estimated that tourism will grow by 5.8 percent year on year. 126 million more jobs will also be created in the next decade.
