Olivia Wilde is trying to set the narrative straight—like a good director should.
“They didn’t,” Wilde told Stephen Colbert on “The Late Show” Wednesday. “But I think it’s a perfect example of the kind of drama people will look for anywhere. Harry didn’t actually spit on Chris.”
“Though that’s what I mean,” replied Wilde. “People can watch a video that shows evidence of someone spitting on someone else and they’ll still see what they want to see, and that’s the creation of drama. And that’s clickbait.”
Wilde told Colbert that Pugh was “sensational.”
“I have nothing but respect for the talent of Florence,” said Wilde. “She’s fabulous, she’s on the sets of her movie ‘Doon’ right now and like, nothing is nicer than a busy actress. I have nothing against her for whatever reason.”
“I think what’s funny is, I don’t feel like my male directing colleagues are answering questions about their cast,” Wilde said. “They really aren’t.”
