Now users can shop for train tickets directly on Google Search.
Currently, this service is for travel in select countries including Germany, Spain, Italy and Japan.
This service will also be available in other countries in the next few months.
New Delhi. Google has announced a new feature that will allow users to buy train tickets in select countries through search only. At present, it is going to be launched in only a few countries, but the company plans to expand it more. So in the next few months this service will be available in other countries as well.
Google has now given users in Germany, Spain, Italy and Japan an easy option to shop for train tickets directly on Google Search for travel in and around select countries. Google said that it has included sustainability in its travel tools.
Richard Holden, VP of Travel Products at Google, said, “For some trips, going via train may be a better option, but getting from A to B may take a bit of a different search to find out prices and schedules ” “Starting today, you can shop for train tickets directly on Google Search, especially for travel in select countries, including Germany, Spain, Italy and Japan,” he wrote in a blog post late Tuesday.
Just search the best train for you
All you have to do is do a search like “Berlin to Vienna trains” and you will see a new module in the search results that will let you choose your departure date and compare the available options. Once you have selected the train suitable for you, a direct link is provided on the partner’s website to complete your booking.
Similar service will be brought for buses also
Holden said, “As we connect with other rail service providers, this facility will spread to more places. We plan to start testing a similar feature for bus tickets in the near future, so that you have more options for intercity travel.” Plus, with new filters for both flights and hotels, it’s easier to find more permanent options on Google Search.
