New Delhi. The second ODI match between India and England women’s teams is being played in Cantbury. In this match, England captain Amy Jones won the toss and invited Team India to bat first. India set a target of 334 runs in front of the hosts, thanks to captain Harmanpreet Kaur’s unbeaten century. Kaur played an unbeaten innings of 143 runs in 111 balls with the help of 18 fours and four sixes. Apart from him, Harleen Deol played an innings of 58 runs. India made a huge total of 333 runs in the stipulated 50 overs for the loss of 5 wickets. This is the second highest score of Team India in ODI cricket.
Electing to bat after losing the toss, the start of the Indian team was not good. Young batsman Shefali Verma failed in the second match in a row. She got bowled on the ball of Kate Krauss after scoring just 8 runs. Smriti Mandhana and wicketkeeper Yastika Bhatia added 54 runs for the second wicket. Bhatia made 26 runs and was caught by Charlie Dean on the ball. Smriti Mandhana, who played a brilliant innings of 91 runs in the first match, contributed 40 runs. During her innings, Mandhana also completed 3000 runs in One Day Internationals.
After Mandhana’s dismissal, Harmanpreet Kaur’s fire came on the field. Kaur shared a 113-run partnership with Harleen Deol for the fourth wicket. Harleen played an innings of 58 runs in 72 balls with the help of five fours and two sixes. After this, Kaur played a partnership of 50 runs with Pooja Vastrakar. In this, Pooja contributed only 18 runs.
Team India added 71 runs in the last 24 balls
Harmanpreet Kaur and Deepti Sharma shared a partnership of 71 runs in just 24 balls for the sixth wicket. Deepti contributed 15 runs in this partnership. Harmanpreet added 43 runs in the last 11 balls of his innings.
