Step 1: First of all go to the official transport website of the state where the challan has been issued to you.
Step 2: Once on the website, look for the section Created for E Challan Payment. Here you have to choose an option from Paying for Violation Notice, Parking Fee or Other Fines.
Step 3: Once you have decided from the above options, click on the appropriate link and enter the required details.
Step 4: Here you have to enter the details of the car, including its registration number, old registration number (if any) and challan tag number.
Step 5: In the next step, you have to fill the current outstanding amount.
Step 6: You can then make the online payment through your Master or Visa credit/debit card.
Step 7: Fill the Captcha field correctly before finally clicking on the ‘Submit’ button. With this your payment is done.

Online payment portals like Paytm make payment of challans quite easy, as they involve a very simple process. Follow these steps to pay the challan online-
- First of all open Paytm mobile application on your mobile.
- Click on ‘Recharge and Pay Bill’
- Scroll down to find ‘Challan’ and click on it
- Select ‘Traffic Authority’. Now enter the required details like Challan Number/Challan ID, Vehicle Number etc.
- Click on ‘Proceed’ to check the challan amount
- Choose your preferred mode of payment – Debit Card, Credit Card, Paytm Wallet, Paytm Postpaid, UPI & Net Banking
- Complete the payment and you’re done!
