Islamabad. The Pakistan Cricket Board has refused to give a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to its players to participate in the upcoming Big Bash League. The board has also not given any clarification on the players’ availability for the new competition to be held in the UAE next year, ILT20. The board has also given the proper reason for the players not participating in these tournaments. The board says they already have compact domestic and international schedules. However, it is not yet clear why players without contracts are being banned.
Let us tell you that the name of any Pakistani player was not included in the list of the first 98 foreign players drafted for the BBL, but it was expected that some players could be included before the deadline. At the same time, no player has been formally named in ILT20 so far.

This is not the first time that there is a disagreement between the players and the PCB about joining other leagues. In the year 2019, Pak players were ready to strike. For some time the board maintained an informal ‘PSL plus one’ rules agreement with players to participate in foreign leagues. But at present it is not clear whether this rule continues or not.
In the year 2023, apart from ILT20, the African T20 league is also starting. In view of the talent of Pakistani players, their demand in the new league is bound to increase. However, according to the rules in Pakistan, players have to take permission from the PCB to put their names in the draft before getting the NOC.
Pak players are already sad about not being able to participate in IPL. In such a situation, if they do not get NOC to play in other leagues as well, then they will suffer a lot. In between, under the proposed plan of PCB, there was talk of getting financial compensation for its players if they are not able to play in foreign leagues, but in view of the prize money of these leagues, the matter has not progressed.
