New Delhi. The remaining 2 T20 matches (IND vs WI T20I) between India and West Indies are to be played in Florida, USA. However, till now the situation is not clear regarding visa clearing before the teams take off. However, Cricket West Indies (CWI) sincerely hopes that all the formalities will be completed in time. Players of both the teams will go to Guyana on Wednesday regarding the visa issue.
The Indian team defeated West Indies by 7 wickets in the third T20 match of the series played at Warner Park, St Kitts. With this win, the visiting team also took a 2-1 lead in the 5-match T20I series. Taking responsibility of the opener Suryakumar Yadav Made a strong performance and played a match winning innings of 76 runs in 44 balls. He was also adjudged player of the match. Now the fourth T20 match is scheduled in Florida on 6th August while the 5th and final T20 has also been scheduled in Florida on 7th August.
2 T20 matches started late
The current T20 series between India and West Indies has seen many ups and downs. There was a difference of two days between the first and second T20 matches as both the teams had gone to St. Kitts for two matches. After this, the second T20 started with a delay of about 3 hours due to non-availability of kit bags and other items. After this, the third T20 was also started with a delay to give enough rest to the players.
What is the whole matter?
In fact, some players from both the teams have not got visas for the US for the last two T20 matches. CWI said, ‘All applications for visa have been given. Appointments have been booked for US visa entry in Guyana for Wednesday. We have no control over this. The board said that both the teams aim to reach Florida by Thursday for the fourth and fifth T20Is.
Cricket West Indies chief Ricky Skerritt said, ‘We are hopeful that the US government will approve the players’ visas.’ The same Cricbuzz has quoted sources as saying that CWI will not send the Indian team to Guyana until it is confident of getting the visa clearance.
India lead 2-1 in series
Suryakumar Yadav’s scintillating innings of 76 helped India beat West Indies by 7 wickets in the third T20I to take a 2-1 lead in the 5-match T20I series. Rohit Sharma left in the middle of the match due to back pain during the third T20. Rishabh Pant played an unbeaten innings of 33 runs in 26 balls in which he hit 3 fours and 1 six. Pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar took 2 wickets.
