New Delhi. The fourth match of the ongoing five-match T20 series between India and West Indies cricket team will be played on Saturday at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground in Lauderhill, Florida. In this match, when the Indian team will enter the field, all eyes will be on the 31-year-old star batsman Suryakumar Yadav. In fact, if Yadav’s bat gets 50 more runs in today’s match, then he will become the number one batsman, leaving Pakistan batsman Babar Azam behind in the ICC T20 rankings.
Babar Azam is currently at the first position in the ICC T20 rankings with 818 rating points. On the other hand, Indian batsman Suryakumar Yadav is in second place with 816 rating points. There is currently a gap of two rating points between Babar and Suryakumar. Recently, Yadav has left behind Babar Azam’s fellow player Mohammad Rizwan in T20 rankings. Rizwan was in second position before Yadav, but after his half-century in the third T20 match against West Indies, Yadav has moved to second position. On the other hand, Rizwan has slipped one place to the third position.
It is worth mentioning that ever since Yadav has stepped into the Indian team, he is running in excellent form. Especially in the T20 format, his bat is running fiercely. First he proved his worth at number four, and now he is scoring runs even while opening. In the ongoing series against West Indies, Suryakumar Yadav has scored 111 runs in three matches and is on top of the list.
Talking about Yadav’s T20 cricket career, playing 22 matches for the country so far, he has scored 648 runs in 20 innings at an average of 38.1. He has one century and five fifties to his name in T20 cricket. Yadav’s personal best batting performance in the shortest format of cricket is 117 runs.
