Birmingham. The Indian women’s cricket team has made it to the semi-finals of the Commonwealth Games 2022. The team defeated Barbados by 100 runs in the final match of the group round. This is the team’s second win in 3 matches. In the group, Australia’s team was on top by winning all three matches. The teams of England and New Zealand from the second group have reached the semi-finals. Playing first, the Indian team scored a good score of 162 for 4 with the help of an unbeaten 56 from Jemimah Rodrigues. In reply, Barbados’s team could score only 62 runs for 8 wickets. India won because of these 5 players:
1. Smriti Mandhana’s wicket had fallen early. But young opener Shefali Verma kept the team on one side. He scored 43 runs off 26 balls at a strike rate of 165. Hit 7 fours and a six. For the second wicket, a big partnership of 71 runs with Jemima Rodriguez.
2. The team had lost 4 wickets for 92 runs. In such a situation, Jemima Rodriguez scored a half-century to take the score beyond 150 runs. He scored 56 not out off 46 balls. Hit 6 fours and a six. Fifty-century partnership with Shefali Verma and Deepti Sharma.
