New Delhi. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Wednesday announced its 15-man squad for the Asia Cup-2022. Along with this, a 16-member squad was also announced for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League matches against the Netherlands from 16 to 21 August. Babar Azam will take over the command of the team. Hasan Ali has been dropped from the team and Naseem Shah has got a chance in his place.
Salman Ali Agha, who toured England for ODIs in the year 2021, has been called back in the team. Shaheen Shah Afridi has been retained in the ODI and T20 squads. However, he missed the second Test in Sri Lanka recently due to injury. No details were given about his injury, but chief selector Muhammad Wasim said Afridi would remain in both teams and “rehab” under the supervision of the team’s trainer and physio. The Pakistani selectors also ignored batsman Shan Masood’s innings in the Test match in Sri Lanka.
Wasim said, “We have made only the necessary changes. Both competitions are important for us, so we have picked our best available players in consultation with the captain and the head coach.” A training camp for the players will be held from August 6 to 11, in which they will also play two 50-over matches.

There will be five changes from the Netherlands ODI team to the ACC T20 Asia Cup squad. Abdullah Shafiq, Imam-ul-Haq, Mohammad Haris, Salman Ali Agha and Zahid Mahmood will get a chance in place of Asif Ali, Haider Ali, Iftikhar Ahmed and Usman Qadir. The ODI series against the Netherlands will be played from August 16 to 21, while the T20 Asia Cup will run from August 27 to September 11.
