New Delhi. Bharti Airtel on Monday said it is all set to usher in the 5G revolution in the country after bidding for spectrum worth Rs 43,084 crore in the spectrum auction. It is worth noting that Airtel has acquired 19867.8 MHz spectrum in the 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 2100 MHz, 3300 MHz and 26 GHz frequency bands during the auction.
Airtel has said in a statement that the acquisition of such a large number of spectrum means that the company does not need to spend money on spectrum. That is, the company will not spend any money on spectrum for many years to come. Further, the spectrum purchase will help Airtel to reduce the spectrum usage charges (SUC) payment and eliminate the adverse arbitrage vis-a-vis new entrants.
The company is ready for the 5G revolution
Airtel now has the widest mobile broadband footprint across the country, making it all set to lead the 5G revolution in India, the statement said. Airtel has plans to launch 5G services in every part of the country and will start it from major cities.

Airtel plans to launch 5G services in every part of the country starting from major cities. The company said that it is confident that its high quality customer base will rapidly adopt 5G devices in the country. Speaking on the occasion, Gopal Vittal, CEO, Bharti Airtel said that this latest spectrum acquisition has been part of the strategy to buy better spectrum assets at a comparatively lower cost. We are confident that we will be able to provide the best 5G services and experience in the country.
