New Delhi. Today many big auto companies have released their sales figures. Most of these companies have performed well. This is the reason why auto stocks dominated the stock market on Monday. Today companies like Tata Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra and Maruti Suzuki made the sales data public.
Today Nifty Auto jumped nearly 3 per cent to close at 12,953. It outperformed all other category indices. Tata Motors was the biggest gainer in auto stocks on Monday. The stock closed at Rs 480, up nearly 30 per cent. Let’s take a look at the auto sector figures released today.

Tata Motors
Tata Motors sold a total of 81,790 vehicles in the domestic and international markets in July 2022. This is 51 per cent more than the 54,119 vehicles sold by the company in July, 2021. According to the statement issued by the company, its total domestic sales increased by 52 percent to 78,978 units last month. The company sold 51,981 vehicles in July, 2021. Passenger vehicle sales in the domestic market grew by 57 per cent to 47,505 units during the period under review as against 30,185 units in the same month a year ago. The company said it sold 4,022 passenger electric vehicles last month. In July last year, this figure was 604. The company sold 31,473 commercial vehicles in July, 2022 as compared to 30,185 vehicles sold in the same period last year.
Mahindra & Mahindra
Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) Ltd on Monday said its total domestic passenger vehicle sales grew 33 per cent year-on-year to 28,053 units in July. The company sold 21,046 vehicles in the same period a year ago. Mahindra sold a total of 56,148 vehicles in July 2022, which is 30 percent more than the last time. Apart from this, the sales of vehicles in the tractor division declined by 14 per cent to 23,307.

Ashok Leyland
The company’s total vehicle sales, including exports, grew 58 percent year-on-year to 13,625 units in July 2022. In the same month last year, the company sold a total of 8,650 vehicles. Sales of Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicles (M&HCVs) last month (including trucks and buses) grew 113 per cent to 8,148 units, the company said in a statement. In July 2021, the company had sold 3,822 units. Ashok Leyland said sales of the light commercial vehicle (LCV) segment also grew by 13 per cent to 5,477 units last month. It stood at 4,828 units in July a year ago.

In July 2022, Maruti sold 1.75 lakh vehicles with a growth of 8.3 per cent. In July 2021, this number was 1.62 lakh. In the domestic market, the company sold 1.55 lakh vehicles, compared to 1.41 lakh last time. The company’s exports declined 4.3 per cent to 20,311 units in July from 21,224 units in the same period last year.

The company said that in July 2022, an increase of about 47 percent, it sold 22,022 vehicles. Kia India sold 8,451 units of Seltos and 7,215 units of Sonet last month. Apart from this, it sold 5,978 units of Carnival and 288 units of Carnival in July.
