New Delhi. The Kia Seltos SUV has become expensive and more secure at the same time. The company will make the updated compact SUV available to compete with the Hyundai Creta from this month. All its variants will now get six airbags as standard. The Korean carmaker has also started offering disc brakes on all tyres.
After adding airbags and disc brakes to the Seltos, the price of the SUV has increased. Kia India has announced the new price for the Seltos SUV from August following the update. The Kia Seltos will now be available from ₹10.49 Lakh (ex-showroom) and will go up to ₹18.65 Lakh (ex-showroom).

Because of this, six airbags have been added
Kia India’s decision to add six airbags to the Seltos SUV comes after the central government made it mandatory. The government has said that from October 1, all new cars will be fitted with six airbags. The Seltos SUV used to come with four airbags earlier. It achieved a three-star rating in the Global NCAP crash test in 2020 when it was equipped with only two airbags.
The car is equipped with advanced safety features
Apart from the airbag and disc brake updates, Kia is also offering other safety features in the Seltos SUV. It also offers features like Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Brake Assist, Hill Assist, Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) and Rear Parking Sensor.
The car comes in three engine options
Kia sells the Seltos SUV in three engine options. The good thing is that the choice of selecting petrol and diesel fuel is available with all three engines. Apart from the 1.5-litre diesel engine in the Seltos petrol version, 1.5-litre and 1.4-litre turbo units are available. These engines come with either a six-speed manual, six-speed automatic or IMT gearbox options.

Gives collision to these cars
Apart from the Hyundai Creta, the Kia Seltos rivals the Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun and MG Astor in India. Soon the Seltos will also face the challenges posed by two new models in the compact SUV segment in the form of Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyrider.”
