New Delhi. If the roads are made good then that country starts moving on the path of progress. This is the belief of the Union Road Transport and Highways Minister of the country Nitin Gadkari. Nitin Gadkari, who reached News18’s program Amrit Ratna Samman on Tuesday, made it clear that the aim of the government is to improve transport and it is being improved continuously.
Regarding how the country can improve with better transportation, Nitin Gadkari said that he got inspiration from the statement of former US President John F. Kennedy about better transportation. He told that Kennedy had said that America is rich, so the roads there are not good, but America’s roads are good, so America is rich. He said that if the country is to be taken on the path of progress, then four things are very important – water, power, transport and communication. If the road becomes good, then progress happens automatically.
Nitin Gadkari has said that two days ago he was going to Gurgaon’s BCG company and got stuck in a jam. “If the flyover from Dhaula Kuan had descended directly outside Gurgaon, it would not have been jammed,” he said. Nitin Gadkari told that he told the officer that such a flyover should be built which directly came out near Gurgaon.
Did not talk about retirement from politics
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said, “I did not talk about retirement from politics. This is how the media publicized it. I had said that before independence there was politics for the nation. Today is for power. I left my college for Jai Prakash Narayan’s movement. I say that those who enter politics with conviction, do well. My words were distorted by the media.”
