New Delhi. On Tuesday, there was a sharp decline in the prices of gold and silver in the domestic market. The price of 10 grams of gold in the national capital today declined by Rs 289 to Rs 51,877. In the last trading session, gold had closed at Rs 52,166 per 10 grams. There was a huge fall in the price of silver today. Silver has fallen by Rs 841 to Rs 58,480 per kg today. In the last trading session, it was at the level of Rs 59,321. Experts believe that gold lost its early lead amid reports of tensions between the US and China.
Let us inform that on Monday also the price of gold came down by 195 per 10 grams and silver by 223 per kg in the bullion market. On the other hand, the rupee maintained its gains against the dollar on Tuesday. Rupee today strengthened by 31 paise against the dollar to close at 78.71. HDFC Securities has said that spot gold price in the international market was trading at $ 1,771 an ounce, while silver was trading at $ 20.25 an ounce.
