Indian captain Rohit Sharma praised West Indies team ahead of T20 series
He said that the host country has an army of match-winner players in T20.
New Delhi. After cleaning the West Indies in the ODI series, Team India is eyeing to repeat the same feat in T20 as well. The first match of the 5 T20 series between the two countries will be played today (July 29) in Trinidad, according to Indian time, at 8 pm. However, even before this match, a strong batsman has been entered in Team India. This batsman is Sanju Samson. Sanju was part of Team India in the recently concluded ODI series against West Indies. But, he was not included in the T20 team. But, Sanju has been included in the T20 squad due to KL Rahul not being fit for the T20 series as well.
Let us know that KL Rahul was selected for the T20 series. But, he would have entered Team India only after passing the fitness test. But, before that he got corona. For this reason, Rahul had to stay in isolation for 7 days. Later such media reports also came that BCCI has advised Rahul to take more rest. In such a situation, if media reports are to be believed, Samson got a chance as his replacement. However, no official information has been revealed from the BCCI till now on this.
Sanju scored 72 runs in the ODI series
Sanju’s performance in the 3 ODI series against West Indies was not special. He scored 72 runs in 3 matches. It includes a fifty. Despite this, captain Rohit Sharma and coach head coach Rahul Dravid expressed confidence in him and gave him a chance in the T20 series against West Indies. Now Sanju will have to take advantage of this opportunity.
We know the strength of West Indies: Rohit
Meanwhile, Indian captain Rohit Sharma has said a big thing about the T20 series against West Indies. He said, “Can’t wait for the series now. We know this series is going to be challenging for us. West Indies team likes to play T20 cricket. The performance of the Caribbean team in this format has always been good. We have an idea of the strength of West Indies. But, our team is also fully prepared. We set some targets for each series. We also have a set target against West Indies. We are not thinking about the past. Even though we have beaten West Indies before. But, for the time being, we are concentrating on this series and only one match at a time.
Rohit further said, “West Indies have a lot of match-winner players in the T20 format. Anyway, the T20 format is such, in which only one player can dominate a team. That’s why we are not thinking about the past record and are ready for a new beginning.”
