Birmingham. The Indian women’s cricket team could not start with a win in the Commonwealth Games even on the basis of excellent bowling led by Renuka Singh. The team lost in its first match (Commonwealth Games 2022) by 3 wickets at the hands of T20 world champion Australia. Ashley Gordon scored an unbeaten half-century to give Australia a thrilling victory. Playing first, India scored 154 for 8 with the help of Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur’s 52 runs. In response, Australia’s team achieved the target for 7 wickets in 19 overs. Women’s cricket has been included in the games for the first time and T20 matches are being played here. The Indian team will take on arch-rivals Pakistan in their second match on July 31.
