≡ British designer uses human sweat to create jewelry and accessories ➤ Brain Berry

Have you ever created something out of nothing? You probably are, even if it’s more metaphorical than literal. Delicious fresh ingredients make for a delicious burger; A billion tiny metal parts make a fancy car; Tiny threads, woven together, become a sleek tuxedo… or at least that’s what the world wants you to think! Want to know the truth? As Alice Potts proved on Instagram, with a little patience, human bodies can make their own clothes. She has turned fantasy into reality by creating a line of jewelry and accessories using sweat crystals and bio-based plastics produced by the human body. Some fans are already signaling Alice’s creations as an eco-friendly alternative for the future.

His collection includes sports and fashion pieces, as well as numerous seemingly random items infused with crystallized sweat. The first question on everyone’s mind is, of course, “why”? According to the artist, in this way, he creates a collection that focuses on finding the perfect balance between body, fashion and science. Could such an approach become the future of fashion? Sweat is enough!

Now let’s see some of Alice’s pieces before they were washed away by the rain.

1. It’s true that salt crystals are beautiful and unique, but I don’t like knowing that they came from humans. Hard practice makes hard crystals, right?

2. Oh, throw those nasty sweat crystals on fur! If the salt is on the other side it will be a perfect skin job.

3. When sweat and sponge combine, there’s no telling what will happen.

4. It has at least one solid concept: the dancer sweats, sweat is salty, and seawater is salty. So, we have things that symbolize ocean waves.

5. Do you wear jewelry made from your own sweat? That was a big mistake on my part.

6. Whatever it is, it seems carefree. Like some alien creature!

7. Sweat is Alice’s strength, but bioplastic is a close second.

8. Here are some really fancy looking bioplastic sequins from London Roses.

9. For dessert, we cut this shoe in half! Loot how many crystals one’s sweaty tootsies produced. Oops!
