We are all too used to stories of celebrities having affairs or cheating on their partners. It’s not something that shocks us anymore, unfortunately. We only worry because we know that the moment some celebrity gets caught cheating, the tabloids are going to publish juicy gossip that no man or woman can resist.
However, sometimes, affairs can ruin careers. Let’s look at some situations where this happened.
Jude Law
Although Jude Law’s life is better now, there was a time when Jude Law was nowhere to be found on the big screen. This of course has to do with his famous affair where he cheated on his then-wife Sienna Miller with none other than a nanny. That’s right, Jude Law’s affair is nothing more than the plot of a cheesy porn movie.
Tiger Woods
We’ve all seen how Tiger Woods went from the man who brought golf to the average family to the man who brought juicy scandals to the average family. He tried to revive his career, but after the whole DUI debacle in 2017, nobody heard much from Woods. I don’t think most people are too upset about it.

Remember Meg Ryan? Yes, no one else. The main reason for that was her relationship with Russell Crowe, which led to her separation from then-husband Dennis Quaid. Don’t you fool Dennis Quaid, Meg. Hollywood will never forgive you.

I get it, hard biker kicks take a lot of work to maintain. But don’t you fool Sandra Bullock. If you do, start a relationship with Kat Von D and don’t cheat on her either. Jesse tried to crawl back out of the hole he dug for himself, going back to his roots and creating another garage reality show, but the public didn’t want him out of his hole just yet.

Imagine being the most famous person in the relationship, and your wife uses your fame to win people’s hearts, only for you to cheat on her with a nanny. Again! You may have been told Jude Law is a bad idea. As popular as Bush was in the ’90s, who ever heard of anything Gavin Rosedale did, well, he did nanny? Meanwhile, Gwen Stefani is still a popular and loved artist. As the Vegas rules say: cheaters never win.
Ryan Phillippe
Do you want to know a really bad career move? Reese broke up with Witherspoon and started a new relationship after breaking up with Hollywood’s most popular actress at the time. Although the rumors that Ryan cheated on Reese were never proven, they were enough to ensure that we would never see him in the movies. I agree, that seems a bit harsh and unfair to Ryan.
Ben Affleck
Because we’ve only got two celebrities who cheated on their wives with a nanny, it’s only natural to mention Ben Affleck. Although the rumors that he had a fight with the nanny were never proven, it raises a lot of red flags that his marriage to Jennifer Garner was over soon after the rumors started to surface. It took Ben a while to get back into Hollywood’s good graces, and honestly, I doubt he’s back on track yet. I mean, his career is now the second worst Batman after George Clooney.
