Whenever you want to go on a diet, the first thing they tell you is to watch your fat. As the name suggests, fats have a tendency to make you fat. While it may seem logical to avoid them as much as possible, this is not always necessary.
Let’s take a look at some really healthy fatty foods.
Cheese
Cheese is full of amazing things like calcium, protein, selenium, vitamin B12 and other things you may not have heard of. While cheeses are very high in the fat department, it’s absolutely fine to eat them.
Whole eggs
Although eggs are made up of fat and yolks are almost pure cholesterol, we cannot ignore some health benefits related to eggs. For one thing, studies show that the cholesterol in eggs doesn’t affect blood cholesterol levels for most people. It contains antioxidants, protein, vitamins, minerals and choline. Whatever you do, don’t throw away the yolk. That’s where the good stuff is.

Avocados
I mean, we already know it’s a superfood, but did you know they’re 77% fat? It’s a great source of potassium and fiber, so you shouldn’t ignore them completely. In fact, any food that contains avocados is good for you.

Coconut
Although coconuts contain a lot of saturated fat, they are actually medium chain fatty acids. This means they move straight to the liver and turn into ketone bodies, which is what the keto diet is all about. People who eat a lot of coconut or coconut oil have been shown to have better health, and it also has benefits for people with Alzheimer’s.

Nuts
Although nuts are high in fat, they are also high in fiber, vitamin E, and magnesium. Now the last one in particular is very important because it is not readily available in many foods, meaning that most people actually have very little magnesium in their daily diet.

Full fat yogurt
It’s full of fats, but it also has lots of probiotics. They can help fight heart disease, obesity and many other things. Make sure you use real full-fat yogurt, not low-fat yogurt that has added sugar. All these are not healthy.

Dark chocolate
Although dark chocolate is the worst chocolate, it is also one of the healthiest. It contains essential nutrients like antioxidants, fiber, magnesium, iron and other nutrients. This makes it a very effective tool for maintaining your cardiovascular health. Or improve it!

Fatty fish
Think salmon or mackerel. We all agree that it is a healthy food, but these fish are filled to the brim with fats. They reduce heart disease, dementia and depression. That’s right—eating fatty fish really does make you happy. There’s no better food than that, right?
